ENGLAND
Mikel Obi (CHELSEA): Nigerian midfielder Mikel Obi was not listed for Chelsea who were unable to continue with their winning form as they were held by a resilient
Sunderland to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light. Mikel has played six EPL matches this season totaling 107 minutes of football.
Victor Moses, Osaze Odemwingie (STOKE CITY): Nigerian duo of Victor Moses and Osaze Odemwingie were both missing in action due to injury for Stoke City who lost by a lone goal to Liverpool their first victory since beating Swansea in the Capital One Cup on Oct. 28. Moses has so far chalked up ten EPL matches with a goal and three assists to his name.
Odion Ighalo (WATFORD): Nigerian attacker, Odion Ighalo, was missing in action for Watford who slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Cardiff City. The 25-year-old Ighalo has three goals from 13 Championship games so far.
Victor Anichebe, Brown Ideye (WEST BROM): Nigerian striker, Victor Anichebe, replaced Youssuf Mulumbu in the 65th minute of West Brom’s lacklustre 1-0 loss to Arsenal at The Hawthorns. It was Anichebe’s eighth appearance for the Baggies this term while his compatriot Ideye, who was on the substitutes’ bench, has played thrice.
Danny Shittu (MILLWALL): The ex-Super Eagles defender was not listed for action in Millwall’s 2-2 draw with AFC Bournemouth on Saturday. The 34-year-old Shittu has scored a goal from three Championship matches this season.
Sammy Ameobi (NEWCASTLE): In-form Nigerian winger, Sammy Ameobi, played for 90 minutes in Newcastle’s 1-0 loss against West Ham United on Saturday. The 22-year-old has played nine games and has scored once for Newcastle.
Sone Aluko (HULL CITY): Nigerian midfielder Sone Aluko replaced Hatem Ben Arfa in the 35th minute as Hull City were defeated 3-0 by Manchester United. It was his sixth substitute appearance for the Tigers.
Kenneth Omeruo (MIDDLESBROUGH): Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo returned to Middlesbrough’s starting line-up for the game against Blackburn Rovers which ended 1-1. It was Omeruo’s 11th start of the Championship season.
GERMANY
Anthony Ujah (COLOGNE): Nigerian forward Anthony Ujah fired blanks in Cologne’s 5-1 loss away to Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday. He has eight goals in all competitions for Cologne.
Chinedu Obasi (SCHALKE 04): Chinedu Obasi was not listed for Schalke who bounced back from their 5-0 UCL humiliation against Chelsea to earn a 4-1 win at home to Mainz 05 on Saturday. Obasi has so far made four Bundesliga starts this term.
TURKEY
Godfrey Oboabona (RIZESPOR): Super Eagles defender, Godfrey Oboabona, was on from start to finish in Rizespor’s 3-1 defeat away to Kasimpasa on Saturday. It was Oboabona’s eighth game of the campaign and has scored once.
FRANCE
Vincent Enyeama (Lille): Super Eagles skipper Vincent Enyeama conceded his 13th goal of the Ligue 1 season in his 14th start of the season in goal for Lille who lost 1-0 to Bordeaux.
Elderson Echiejile (MONACO): Super Eagles defender, Elderson Echiejile, played all 90 minutes in Monaco’s 2-0 loss to Rennes. It was Echiejile’s fifth start in French Ligue 1 so far this season, scoring one goal.
ITALY
Nnamdi Oduamadi (CROTONE): Nnamdi Oduamadi was an unused substitute for Crotone in their 4-1 loss at home to Modena on Saturday. The AC Milan loanee has scored once in 12 Serie B appearances.
Ogenyi Onazi (LAZIO): Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, was an unused substitute for Lazio who drew goalless away to Chievo Verona on Saturday. Onazi has played seven Serie A games and has been booked twice.
SCOTLAND
Efe Ambrose (CELTIC): Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose was a half-time substitute in Celtic’s 2-1 win against Dundee United on Saturday. Ambrose who was on duty for Nigeria last week in their failed attempt to qualify for AFCON 2015 has so far played eight league matches this season.
RUSSIA
Ahmed Musa (CSKA MOSCOW): Nigeria international Ahmed Musa scored his sixth league goal of the season for CSKA Moscow in their 5-0 thrashing of FC Ufa. Musa was a 62nd minute substitute for Cote d’Ivoire striker Seydou Doumbia and he went on to score in the 88th minute to give his team a convincing 5-0 win. The 22-year-old has played 15 games this season for CSKA Moscow who are second in the league table with 28 points in 15 games.
ISRAEL
Austin Ejide, John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva); Olanrewaju Kayode (Maccabi Netanya): Nigeria midfielder John Ogu scored his first goal for his Israeli premier league team Hapoel Be’er Sheva in a 4-0 thrashing of Olanrewaju Kayode’s Maccabi Netanya on Saturday. Ogu scored the third goal in the 58th minute for Hapoel Be’er Sheva who are now second in the league table with 21 points from 10 games. Austin Ejide was in goal for Hapoel Be’er Sheva, while Olanrewaju Kayode featured for Maccabi Netanya.
GREECE
Christian Obodo (XANXTHI): Former Super Eagles midfielder Christian Obodo was on for 90 minutes but couldn’t prevent his team from going down 2-0 to home side Atromitos. It was Obodo’s eighth appearance, and he found the back of the net once.
Daniel Adejo (KALLONI): Nigerian defender Daniel Adejo played 90 minutes for Kalloni as they were held 0-0 at home by Platanias. The game was his 10th netting once.
Dele Adeleye (OFI): Nigerian defender Dele Adeleye was shown a straight red card in his team’s 3-0 away loss to Pas Giannina. The game was the former junior international’s 11th appearance for OFI.
HUNGARY
George Ikenne (Honved), Egejuru Godslove(Dunaújváros-Pálhalma): Nigerian midfielder George Ikenne was on from start to finish as his side held Dunaujvaros to a goalless draw. It was Ikenne’s 13th of the season. His Nigerian counterpart, Egejuru Godslove, was an unused substitute. He has played six times, scoring one goal.
Kim Ojo (Ujpest FC): Nigerian attacker Kim Ojo was on the starting 11 for Ujpest FC before being replaced by Rodrigo Rojo on 87 minutes in their 1-0 home win against Szombathelyi Haladas. The game was his third so far.
Eke Uzoma (Pecsi MFC): Nigerian midfielder Eke Uzoma played all 90 minutes but his team lost 3-2 away to MTK. The game was his 10th of this term.
DENMARK
Adeola Runsewe (Silkeborg): Nigerian striker Adeola Runsewe was an unused substitute as his side suffered a 1-0 loss at home to OB. Runsewe has appeared eight times for Silkeborg.
SLOVAKIA
Rabiu Ibrahim, Moses Simon, Kingsley Madu, Emmanuel Madu (Trencin): Former junior international Rabiu Ibrahim was introduced on 66 minutes but couldn’t prevent his team from losing 2-1 away to Spartak Myjava. The game was his third. His Nigerian team-mate Simon Moses however was on for 90 minutes, and he has featured 19 times this term.
SPAIN
Success Isaac (GRANADA): Former Flying Eagles forward Isaac Success played the last seven minutes of Granada’s 5-1 loss away to Sevilla on Sunday. Sucess replaced Claudo Piti in the 83rd minute in what was his ninth game La Liga game of the season.
